You can loathe your position. You may stare vacantly at your boss speaking – wah, wah, wah, wah, wah. You feign laryngitis for a full two years, breaking the previous record of 18 months.
And then you hear the words, thank you. You see them written on paper, thank you for all you do.
Nothing changes, but a small beam of sunshine shines on your day. Years later, you reminisce. Yes, it was a hard job. But you remember that they thanked you.
Two words, so simply uttered, simply written. Yet, many forget. Always thank people. Because you’ll never want to forget those folks who thanked you.
And you’ll always want to remember the names of those who didn’t.
