It’s been nearly a year since sharing the challenges of becoming a parent.  At that time I wrote,

People tell us that we’ll forget this period.  As I mentioned, its starting to happen.  They say at around three and four months, “it gets easier”.  I’m not sure if that is true or if you brain just clouds over the really, really bad parts.  Then, as they tell us, you forget the whole thing.  That’s how you end up with two kids.

I can say that it wasn’t at three or four months for us.  Really, it was six and a half.  Then eight.  And a really solid good one at a year.
That’s when my tune started changing.  The photo albums started to be made – and this video.  A huge admission that I’m drinking the kool-aid.
The new things “they say” are that at 18 month – 24 months is when you super forget and kid #2 comes along.  I can still close my eyes and remember the moments of last summer.  Some of the not so nice ones.  They are starting to blur, but they are still there.  Enough to hold on to “one is enough.”
But how many times do you think I’ll watch this before my kool-aid is finished off and I’m walking around with, “ooooohhhhh, it’s not so bad.”
