I get so inspired by Pinterest.  Sometimes I actually attempt the ideas.  For example, I’m currently on a role of “CrockPot Mondays” and have enjoyed making things like Lasagna Soup and Taco Bowls.  Other times, I try the activity and figure out how I can be lazy about some of the rules, like the DIY Canvas Prints.
My Holiday spirit kicked into gear early this year.  I blame living in Canada.  Where there’s a void of holiday after Halloween and it feels like winter since Halloween.  In hoping to involve my daughter in activities, I came across this genius idea for a felt Christmas tree.  Johnny In A Dress is genius!
Felt Xmas Tree
While this would involve a trip to Michaels, lots of felt cutting, some hot gluing, and figuring out how to adhere to a wall…I could do it!!  It would be my one Christmas craft.  I had the plans to visit Michaels all laid out.
And then…I went to Target.   Sitting on the end of an aisle, for 50% off of its $10 sticker prices, was this:
Felt Tree Target
A lazy mommy’s dream come true.
Now, in my defense, due to the very small nature of some of the pieces, I did end up hot gluing the presents to the bottom of the tree.  And I did have to masking tape it to the door.

My 18 month old daughter loves it and is able to attach the pieces on her own.  She also enjoys carrying the felt in her hand.  Who can blame her, it’s cold up here, and she probably thinks they are mittens.

Hi5 to me on completing my 2013 Christmas craft.  Smart cheating is a mommy’s best friend.
