Michele Fugiel Gartner, PhD, CAP®, is a philanthropic advisor for individuals, couples, and family foundations. She specialises in advisory services for women and next-generation philanthropists. Her advisory is complemented by her doctoral research on foundation professionals in family foundations and her instruction in nonprofit management. She obtained her Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® designation in 2016 and is a member of the Global Philanthropy Advisory Group with the Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners (STEP).
Michele’s philanthropic experience has been with organisations including, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Social Venture Partners Calgary, Trico Charitable Foundation, and the Centre for the Study of Philanthropy & Public Good. She was project manager for Enterprising Non-Profits Canada, an initiative of Employment and Social Development Canada and has sat on the Boards of the Social Enterprise Council of Canada and the Social Enterprise Alliance (U.S.). Michele received her M.A. degree in International Studies and Diplomacy at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London and is an alumna of the Rotary Group Study Exchange Fellowship and the Asia Pacific Leadership Program at the East-West Center. She resides in London, UK.
