In this article, I conceptualise how giving tools might look if we consider donors’ “treasure and time” rather than only their financial giving. In this framework, we see four giving types emerge: active giving, active investing, passive giving, and passive investing. These choices may vary and change over a lifetime. The framework provides advisors with a tool to start and advance client conversations.
